Hi all! Newbie here so please forgive me if this has been asked already...I am in the midst of setting up the Arc 7 HD that I bought for my mom (and have been playing around with in the mean time) and I am having trouble with hooking up a USB stick. I have bought an adapter (male micro USB to female USB) to hook my external hard drive onto in the hopes of watching movies from it. Problem is, the kobo isn't really 'recognizing' the media stick. Do I have to download an app as a middle man type step? I can put it right on the device through my PC but I would like to be able to watch a movie right from a USB stick. Please help! Getting super frustrated and discouraged!

The adapter you describe is a USB OTG cable. In order to use that cable the tablet has to act as a USB host - normally when attached to a USB cable it acts as a USB memory device. So plugging in a USB stick using an OTG cable requires the tablet to reverse its USB role. In order to do that the tablet needs OTG support code built into its operating system.

As far as I'm aware the Kobo Arc 7 doesn't have the OTG driver built-in nor is it available as an update or an app. Sorry!
