Hi to all. My kobo is 14 months old and yesterday I turned it on and the screen went all lines and impossible to read , Im wondering if anyone else has had their kobo do this. I took it back to purchase place and they have shipped it away. I hope it comes back well!

Did you try a reset? (Stick a paper-clip in the small hole at the centre bottom of the back panel.) Occasionally a corrupted screen can be due to a software crash.

Perhaps I've just been lucky but I've not had any significant hardware problems with my eReaders. My oldest Kindle has hairline cracks in the case due to plastic fatigue (a well known problem with that model) but that doesn't effect its functioning. My Kobo Mini spends most of its life in my rucksack only protected by a neoprene case and continues to work absolutely flawlessly.

A few web sites have free books, either plain text or e-pub work + it.
