Kobo problem

I have an older Kobo(2+ years) it's not a touchscreen. About 6 months ago I started having trouble. I purchased 3 books which would not sync properly to my reader. I've done what Kobo Help instructed (via email) and can't get them to load. They are blank, only a cover shows. Also after following their emailed instructions all my books are now blank! On my reader not my computer. And now it seems my reader is frozen. I loved my kobo and I love reading, please can anyone help me? I'm thinking it might be the reader is no longer working, but I don't want to go and purchase another one and discover blank books! Now that I've been converted to ebooks there are a lot of authors I can't find at my smalltown library. thanks!!

I've heard of this happening a few times before, but am not certain what the solution is. I assume that Kobo got you to reset the ereader and download the books again?

Rest assured that if the books are displaying correctly on your computer then they are not damaged and the problem is due to your Kobo getting itself into an unexpected state. Even if the books had been corrupted you could download them again from the Kobo store anyway.

Has anyone else heard of a reliable solution to this problem?

Thank you for replying! I am going to do a reset and try again. Although since I posted this I found an online history of a one on one chat with a Kobo tech helping a customer with the exact problem. Unfortunately the results were not good. The tech talked the customer through every solution he had to no avail. But it's still worth a shot so I'm going to try. I am only debating if I need a replacement if I should stick with Kobo. I will definately keep you updated!
