Hi

I was given for Xmas a Kobo Glo and had to problems with the battery life on the first 2 charges I got around 30-40 hours from both. Then the next charge I only got about 20 hours life and then the next couple of charges I only got around 10. On all of these the wi-fi is off and the light is on very low.
I contacted Kobo and finally got a answer and was told to take my Kobo back to WHSmiths where it was purchased for it to be replaced. They reluctanly replaced it! I fully charge the Kobo when i got home and then had to re-charge it 4 days later with no more then 5 hours of reading done...

Has anyone else had similar problems as its rather annoying, i went with this reader as the battery life is meant to be approx 1 month so 5 hours is really not acceptable

30-40 hours of reading with wi-fi off sounds about right.

Do you have a cover for your Glo? Does the battery drain while the device is sleeping? There have been reports on another forum that if the cover touches the screen while the device is going into sleep mode that the touch screen remains active and causes the battery to drain.

Do you use a micro SD card in your Glo? When I first got mine I had a micro SD card that turned out to be faulty or incompatible in some way, and this shortened the battery life significantly. I later replaced the card with a new one (Sandisk) and my battery life improved. I now get about 40-45 hours reading over 2-3 weeks from one charge.
